Topic 2: Collaboration VS. Cooperation

Collaboration and Cooperation are two similar concepts but there are distinct differences between them.

Collaboration involves individuals/groups that come together to work on a task/project. It highlights: active participation and decision-making for a bigger purpose. In this concept there’s big interaction and combination of skills between participants.

Cooperation also refers to individuals/groups working together but independently. Each participant completes their assigned task and a specific responsibility,  but work in a coordinated manner to achieve a goal. In cooperation there isn’t a high level of interdependence.

Both collaboration and cooperation have their place in different contexts and can be valuable for achieving common goals and fostering effective teamwork.
